Interesting day, out of the blue, Julie, for all things SPAC stocks. Still seeing some action, here, on our platform- ironSource, Pioneer. Genius Sports, another SPAC name, up close to 10% yesterday. No real news here, and Jared Blikre did notice, did mention to us, still, no news, here, this morning. Yesterday, SoFi shares popped up about over 10%. What's up with SoFi? What's going on here?īRIAN SOZZI: Yeah, I'll put this under the hashtag wacky movers list, Julie.

Continues to kind of linger there, today. We are also, or you are, watching shares of SoFi, which was near the tops of our Yahoo Finance Trading Ticker List yesterday. JULIE HYMAN: Yeah, good point, and, of course, there are some other pending chip deals, as well, that we have been watching. So should this deal even fall through, AMD is still winning, right now, in the spaces it's supposed to win in. Even though Xilinx, in the mix at AMD, AMD, right now, has been at the top of its game with its products. And that is taking a little bit longer than, I believe, they would have liked to see.īut I will note this. I think it just boils down to getting approval from Chinese authorities. My sense of the matter is, and I know Lisa Su, the CEO of AMD, has been working very hard to get this deal closed. It will, should it close, fundamentally transform what they do and make the company even more of a powerhouse. It is a very big acquisition for AMD, $35 billion. I don't know if there's a big takeaway there, if regulators are being tougher across the board, or if it's just there's some specific, individual cases.īRIAN SOZZI: I think in the case, or, let's keep in mind, this Xilinx deal with AMD, that was announced, I believe, in late 2020. We are seeing a little bit of a delay in some deals. And it feels like, to me, Soz, that this is not the only deal this is happening, too. We are seeing Xilinx shares pull back a little bit. Now it looks like it's being pushed back to the first quarter of 2022.
